By the time October 31st comes around it can feel like you've already been tricked and treated a dozen times. You're pooped, and your costumes are looking worse for the wear. This Halloween was no different—eventful would put it mildly.

Listen as my husband and "Tales From Two Townies" interrupter talks creeping it real in our Halloween costumes, not breaking character in his Freddy Kruger ensemble, when your kiddo's costumes go from cute to scary/sassy, the family costume era, getting "dress down day" at a uniformed school wrong and what it is like for a mom to have too many brain files open and finally the story of the stolen skeleton and the "peaceful transaction" between two pissed parents, the perps and the Champaign, Urbana AND University of Illinois Police Departments. The most celebrated Harrington holiday was scary but merry!

Emily Harrington, here! Mom, wife, retired communications liaison and host of the HyperLocal(s) Podcast. Each week I bring you a pod where townies and transplants share their tales of tears and triumphs, losses and wins. In an effort to provide a way for those that don’t want a public podcast, but still have a story to tell friends and family, I’ve created, In Retrospect: A HyperLocal(s) Project, a private podcast.
