His resurrection secured our faith because He was exactly who He professed to be. His resurrection was to convict us to believe the totality of who He is, so that we would accept His commission without any reservation, and that commission was for us to feed His sheep. We pat ourselves on the back when we involve ourselves in any program regarding the feeding of the hungry and homeless, and that is commendable, but Jesus specifically referred to feeding his sheep, feeding the people the bread of life, the Word of God, and nurturing their souls.

The words feed my sheep support the message of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20). "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

This is not an exclusive assignment for Pastors, Bishops, Apostles, or any other religious elite; this is a mandate for all believers.

We profess to love God, believe He was Jesus and flesh, but do you love enough to study the word of God so that you can stock your spiritual pantry to feed his sheep.

Do honor the sacrifice Jesus made on that cross enough to reserve some time/ daily with just you and him, not just you praying and asking of Him, but time when you are reading His word and meditating to hear from Him

As believers, we don’t just celebrate the resurrection; we honor it with our lives. Is there anybody here that love my Jesus? As you ponder that question, I say be blessed and get busy.

Do You Love My Jesus by Bishop Darren J. Ross.
