Happy Earth Day.
What better way to celebrate than to share the story of a Belgian nurse and a journalist who threw in their jobs in Antwerp to start Ibizas very first Alpaca Farm.
Bart and San now tend to their 19 strong herd in the North of the island and the pair harvest their wool once a year in April to use for the creation of clothes.
They have a weaving studio on their farm which they have regenerated over the past few years.
Es Currals was abandoned when the discovered it in 2019 and the pair have spent much of their time bringing it back to life to be able to raise their fur babies, which originate from Peru.
The Alpacas are all named after film and rock stars and Bart spends much of his time harvesting the manure of the animals for local gardeners and farmers to use on their land and regenerate it.
Check out their Face book page, Instagram & the weaving site of San´s Collection on their website.
Our next podcast course is coming up in Ibiza, June 19 and 20th 2023.
