Manny Munoz discussed it with Megan O’Reilly, Vice President of Government Affairs for Health and Family at AARP. AND, nearly 40 million Americans have diabetes, and about half will develop diabetic retinopathy the leading cause of irreversible blindness in working-age adults. Manny got insight on the illness from Dr. Geoffrey Emmerson, President of the American Society of Retina Specialists.
