Liz of B'More Community Fridge joins Alice to discuss the work of maintaining a community fridge in Baltimore.
A community fridge is a mutual aid resource. A committed group of neighbors secure a refrigerator in an accessible public space, build a shelter for it, and it is stocked and maintained by and for anyone in the community. All of its contents are free, and everyone is encouraged to take what they need and leave what they can. The structure of how each action of every volunteer for B'More elevates the experience of getting food from a community fridge.
