Gregory Stangl and Loni Austin of Phoenix Energy speak with Leila Conners about the value of biochar. They’ve been producing it for over 15 years with their BECCS machines. The bioenergy carbon capture and storage machines produce biochar as a byproduct. Rather than seeing biochar as a byproduct, Phoenix knows it has core value for farmers when regulating water content in soils, as a powerful method of water filtration as well as a way to mitigate and lock in the carbon from California’s forest.
