Your Nightly Prayer 🙏🏾 Proverbs 18:21
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”
PROVERBS 18:21
DEVOTION
Based on Proverbs 18
Our words carry immense power. According to this proverb, what we speak has the ability to bring life or death—hope or harm, peace or pain. The tongue is a small part of the body, but it reveals the condition of our hearts and can shape our relationships, influence outcomes, and even impact our own well-being.
God calls us to be mindful of our speech and to use our words to build up, not tear down. When we speak truth in love, encouragement in hardship, and praise in all things, we align our voice with His heart. Words are seeds—we will eat the fruit of what we sow.
Take a moment tonight to reflect on your words today. Breathe out carelessness, and breathe in God’s wisdom. Ask Him to help you speak with life, love, and truth.
A.C.T.S. REFLECTION
ADORATION: Praise God for being the Word made flesh, whose voice brings life and healing. Worship Him for the gift of communication and His guidance over our speech.
CONFESSION: Reflect on times when your words caused harm or failed to reflect Christ. Confess any gossip, anger, or negativity, and ask for a purified heart.
THANKSGIVING: Thank God for the grace to start anew each day. Express gratitude for the power of encouraging words and the healing they bring to others.
SUPPLICATION: Father, guard my tongue and guide my speech. Help me choose words that bring life, healing, and hope. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in Your sight.
PRAYER
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”
PROVERBS 18:21
Dear Lord, Give me the gift of Your grace, that I may be filled with kind words toward others. Let not my tongue sin against You by speaking harshness to those around me. You have commanded us to love each other as ourselves. Let me be a person of gentleness and humility, that I may be pleasing to You. May my words show grace and truth, for this reflects Your nature. Help me to use kind words in all situations, even when I am tired or stressed. Grant me the ability to speak graciously even when I don’t feel like it. Let my words be an encouragement and a blessing to those who hear them. In Jesus’s name I pray, Amen. “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” 🌏🌍 🌎 🗺️
