Season 7 Episode 2
live from Kicks and Tricks in North Kingstown, RI, at the Wide World of Indoor Sports!
Last season, we had Anthony on the podcast to share his story behind the Kicks and Tricks events. We also welcomed Damian, a recurring guest and the original person who introduced us to both Antman and this amazing sneaker scene. It’s a pleasure to have them back and involved in today’s live episode.
I had the honor of interviewing not only a variety of incredible vendors but also attendees who stopped by to show their support. You’ll hear from Trinity — an artist and designer owner and operator of art versus nature LLC We’re excited to get her on our waitlist
We also connected with Donnie, working the Rhode to Custom Patch Bar right next to our table, and Calvin, who she met today and is already brainstorming collaboration ideas with. We love to see that kind of networking in real time!
A personal highlight for me was finally meeting the creative mind behind Dgt.studios — someone I’ve followed and shared content from many times. Watching him film and interview people live, including myself, was a full-circle moment.
But it didn’t stop there. As I wandered the venue, I ran into the unforgettable Demon Boy Art — and what a presence! Picture a snake draped around him. Meeting him in person, after following his work for so long, was incredible. From tattoos to his haunted house gigs, Durrell is truly a multi-talented force, and we’ll definitely be bringing him on for a full episode soon. Shoutout to the snakeskin and those glowing stickers — they’re wild!
We stopped by Rhody Rugs and checked out an awesome custom rug they were making for the event. It was amazing to learn about how quickly their business has taken off.
we sat down with Deja and her amazing mother to hear what inspired Deja’s beautiful pieces and how proud her mom was to support her — an inspiring duo.
As a huge Power Rangers fan, I couldn’t pass up meeting special guest Kevin Duhaney, who played Ethan in Power Rangers Dino Thunder. Major props to Anthony for bringing him in! I got a signed pic and merch, and I even got to ask him a few podcast questions about his time on the show.
Damian stopped by again — this time with his German Shepherd, Freya. We caught up on his latest projects, animal training, and of course, I had to ask him about Fantastic Four. Always a great convo. Eastcoast TCG, pulling some great cards. We also interviewed guests like Adam, a first-timer at Kicks and Tricks, as well as returning vendors like Ragz2Riches and Skyy.
We caught up with Cara and Nicole from Original Shoe Wear & Apparel, discussing what's hot in sneaker trends. Kenzie from KenzieRestorationz was also on hand to clean up your kicks and keep your sneakers fresh.
Maddie was back again, selling THC-infused goodies that looked mouthwatering. She’s a veteran of the Kicks and Tricks scene. Down the line, Moon Mart held it down with exotic snacks and drinks — shoutout to Ramaz for always coming through.
Big shoutout to Dirty Laces — we saw you doing your thing and didn’t want to interrupt that business flow. We’ll definitely link up soon for a future episode. Same goes for any vendors we missed hop on the waitlist and get your own feature
Props to G.A.S. Sneaker Company and, of course, our incredible host Anthony Gorton, who we caught up with live before wrapping up the event. Huge thanks to the For The Culture team, promoting their upcoming sneaker show on June 28 — buy, sell, and trade from 12–5 PM.
To top it all off, I’m dropping a digital download code for Deadpool & Wolverine for today’s listeners. Anthony closes out the episode with a heartfelt message from the event.
Massive love to Kickamatics, Clutchkicks, Anthony’s cousin, and our amazing DJ for the event. Shoutout to TJBEATSPVD aka TJ Horton — you kept the vibe right all day long. Sorry for any copyrighted music in the background — we try to shout out every throwback banger, like “Summer Nights” by Lil Rob.
