SOPHIE CORAN Interview - Philadelphia Singer Songwriter
Manage episode 483362932 series 2911055
Rob and Matt had the pleasure of talking to Singer/Songwriter Sophie Coran a week or so ago.
Sophie's new album "I don't go to New York anymore" was just released.
The album is a beautiful indie pop album that doesn't disappoint. Very dreamy, 14 beautifully constructed songs. A couple of the songs are experimental.. the album is a wonderful journey into the indie pop realm.. We just love this album!
We talk to Sophie about her new apartment, her cats, toy pianos, why she doesn't go to New York anymore, Jeffrey Campbell Boots, her 7 visualizer videos, teaching piano and we find out a couple non-music things about Sophie... what is her favorite Philly food and the last movie she saw in the theater...

A LITTLE ABOUT SOPHIE
Sophie is a singer/songwriter based in Philadelphia.
When she was two years old, she asked her mom for a “pi-na-no.” Music has always been a huge part of her life, in fact, she's not sure there’s ever been a period of time where music wasn’t a defining factor in her decisions.
From piano lessons, to learning to write down the songs she heard in her head, to studying classical composition in college, she knew music would always be present in one way or another.
After graduating from MSM, she spent some time abroad, landing in London, and then back to Philly, where she is currently based.
