The man who admitted to killing a city worker during a fight inside a Point Breeze corner store nearly two years ago has been sentenced to six to 12 years behind bars. Seenaj Jackson pleaded guilty in February to third-degree murder and gun charges in the death of Philadelphia Streets Department employee Masir Williams. On Sept. 7, 2023, authorities said Williams had just arrived to start work and stopped by a corner store at 23rd and Oakford streets with two coworkers. Inside, Jackson and Williams got into an altercation, and Jackson pulled out a gun and opened fire. Williams was shot in the back and leg and later died at the hospital. Jackson was on the run for a few weeks but was ultimately arrested by U.S. Marshals. Judge Charles Ehrlich sentenced 24-year-old Jackson to six to 12 years in prison.
