Many federal employees had to borrow money, use credit cards and take out loans to make ends meet during the recent government shut down. Now, with the holiday season upon us, the city of Philadelphia is offering some relief to government employees who faced economic hardship and were not able to pay rent during the shutdown. The city today announced the One Philly Federal Furloughed Renter Relief Program. It offers a one-time $1,000 grant to eligible households.To apply, federal employees can visit phila.gov/federalfurloughrelief.
