The William Way LGBT Community Center is closing its doors in the Gayborhood in three weeks. It is hosting an event next Friday called "One Last Dance," but organizers say their work isn't over. They told the Inquirer that they're "finalizing plans that will guide the center's next chapter." They say the aging building on Spruce Street needs at least $3.5 million in repairs, and they haven't been able to raise the funds. One of the biggest challenges will be preserving the vast John J. Wilcox Junior Archives and Library. It's full of important historic documents and artifacts. Organizers say they're getting it ready for its "future home."
