Here's the Left of Lansing "Friday Short" for June 20, 2025.
Michigan Democratic State Rep. Donovan McKinney is challenging incumbent Democratic Congressman Shri Thanedar in Michigan's 13 Congressional District primary next year.
McKinney's challenge is part of the overall fight for the future of the Democratic Party. Some 62% of Democrats in a recent poll said the party needs new leaders.
Donovan McKinney is trying to do just that by pushing a true, populist, progressive, working class agenda against Thanedar's agenda of just enriching himself.
