In this episode Laura Rooney Ferris talks to Alan Carbery. Alan Carbery is Associate Library Director in Champlain College in Vermont, USA. He oversees the College’s award-winning, blended information literacy programme. Alan began his library career in Ireland, studying in UCD and working in the libraries of NUI Galway, The food Safety Authority and Waterford Institute of Technology before moving to the US. Alan was keynote speaker at LILAC 2017 and spoke to Laura about his career path and how information literacy is integral to what librarians do. Alan also shared his insights on information literacy in the wake of the rise of 'fake news' and discussed how development of information skills can be a solution in the post truth world.
