2024 survey conducted as part of the Rural Water Supply Network's (RWSN) Stop the Rot initiative, focusing on ensuring the quality of boreholes and pumps for rural water supplies. The survey gathered input from a diverse group of stakeholders across 62 countries regarding their experiences with post-construction monitoring and diagnosis of water supply systems. Key findings indicate that while such monitoring is deemed important, there is variation in practice, with challenges identified related to prioritization, resources, and clear protocols, highlighting the need for the practical guidance document the initiative is developing. The survey also revealed a significant interest among respondents in supporting the creation of this guidance and a desire for training, capacity building, and learning opportunities.
