By 18, Kaylee had already survived a traumatic car accident that left her with long-term spinal injuries. She had supported partners through mental health crises. She was a student at the University of British Columbia, passionate about health education. But nothing could prepare her for the unimaginable loss of Liam—her best friend, her soul’s mirror, and the light in her life at the young age of 20.

Too heartbroken to continue forward as “Kaylee,” she created a new version of herself:

Kay—a soul reborn through pain, determined to speak up and help others feel less alone.

Through one deeply symbolic and spiritual moment in the mountains—on the exact anniversary of her last adventure with Liam—Kaylee stumbled across an identical duck floaty from their final sibling trip together. Alone in the middle of a remote mountain pass, she took this as a sign. This was Liam telling her it was time to speak.

And so she did.
