Are you a law firm owner looking for some advice on running a successful firm? In this episode of the Maximum Lawyer podcast, Tyson engages in a conversation with Josh Stein, a personal injury lawyer, about the evolving landscape of personal injury law and the challenges of running a law firm.

Running a law firm is a challenging task even for seasoned attorneys. Josh speaks to the benefits of working alongside a mentor to help navigate the journey of firm ownership. Law school will not teach you the business side of things, which is what Josh learned from his mentor. Whether it be learning how to work with a client, going through audits or mastering the art of tax season, a mentor is crucial to learning the ropes and running a successful law firm.

Authenticity is an important trait to have as an attorney. Being true to yourself as a person will translate in how you work with clients. When informing clients about their cases, especially if they are calling to inquire about their situation, be upfront and honest about how you can help (if you can help at all) and let them know how things will play out. This will help the client in the long run and save both of you a lot of time.
