Beach lovers and wave chasers, grab your sunscreen and listen up! The New York coastal scene is serving up a chill beach day with some subtle twists.
For all you Brooklyn beach bunnies hanging at Coney Island and Manhattan Beach, we're looking at a mostly cloudy Sunday with a whisper of light rain. Temperatures will hover in the upper 60s, with a gentle northeast breeze around 10 mph. The surf is sitting pretty at a mellow 3 feet, and the water temperature is a comfortable mid-60s.
Rip current risk? Super low today. But remember, even on calm days, stay alert near jetties and piers. Your high tide at Coney Island rolls in at 11:25 AM, with low tide making its appearance at 5:04 PM. Early birds can catch a sunrise at 5:25 AM, while sunset lovers get their golden hour at 8:28 PM.
Rockaway and Queens beaches are singing a similar tune - mostly cloudy with a hint of light rain. Temperatures will dance in the mid-60s, and that consistent northeast wind keeps things interesting. The surf remains a smooth 3 feet, perfect for casual wave watching.
Long Beach, Atlantic Beach, and Jones Beach crews can expect an identical vibe - cloudy skies, a touch of potential light rain, and temperatures climbing to the upper 60s. Water temperatures are sitting in the lower 60s, so maybe keep that wetsuit handy.
Looking ahead, the week promises mostly cloudy conditions with a slight chance of showers. Juneteenth is looking particularly spicy with partly sunny skies and a potential thunderstorm party.
Bottom line: Chill vibes, manageable waves, and just enough drama to keep things interesting. Stay safe, stay cool, and enjoy those New York beaches!
