Did you know there’s a brand new virtual Book of Mormon Art Catalog available to browse online? Steve and Rebecca sit down with scholar of Latter-day Saint visual art, Jenny Champoux to discuss this wonderful project. As the director of the Book of Mormon Art project, Jenny gives us insights into how the catalogue was created, how they selected the artwork and made it user friendly so anyone can search it to find Book of Mormon art that speaks to them. The catalogue contains artwork inspired by The Book of Mormon from the earliest 19th-century images to the present. The catalogue is comprehensive collection of Book of Mormon art from a range of public and private collections, museums, and the collections of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including artwork that isn’t posted anywhere else. Steve, Rebecca and Jenny discuss several of Jenny’s favorite pieces of art in the catalogue and she shows us the many different ways to search the database by topic, medium, scripture reference, date and more. Steve also discusses the pivotal role that BOM art played in his journey. This is an absolutely beautiful episode of Mormon Media Reviews you will definitely want to watch. You can even learn how to submit your own artwork! #ldspodcast #bookofmormon #mormonism
