Nat Bieler (pronounced "Nat Bee-ler") is a talented Colombian singer-songwriter, activist, and trailblazer for gender-diverse musicians. Born on October 14, 1997, in Cali, Colombia, Nat’s musical journey was influenced by her family’s rich musical legacy. With her grandparents, Kurt Bieler and Isabel O’Byrne, being prominent violinists in the Cali Philharmonic Orchestra, Nat was immersed in music from a young age.
Her passion for songwriting began at just 8 years old, influenced by iconic pop artists like Shakira and Christina Aguilera. By 18, while studying Social Communication and Journalism at Universidad Autónoma de Occidente, Nat won the Rockópolis competition, propelling her solo career forward. Her debut album Catarsis (2018) marked her as a unique voice in the Colombian music scene, leading to a national tour and recognition from the Colombian Blues Society.
A key advocate for women and gender-diverse musicians, Nat founded FEMMES Fest in 2019, Colombia’s first festival and platform dedicated to supporting these artists. Recognized by the Ministry of Culture and Fundación Mi Sangre, FEMMES Fest fosters networking, dialogue, and cultural events that promote gender equality in the music industry. Her efforts have made her a prominent voice for diversity and inclusivity across Latin American music scenes.
Her music blends a variety of genres, including blues, soul, Afro-Latin rhythms, and experimental electronic styles. Her Perderme en Ti EP (2020) gained significant international attention, and her 2021 single Secreto was featured in the official selection of the Bogotá Music Video Festival. Nat's unique sound and thought-provoking lyrics reflect her commitment to exploring gender perspectives, modern narratives, and personal stories.
Through her activism and artistry, Nat Bieler continues to break barriers, not only in music but in advancing LGBTQ+ visibility and gender equality in Latin American culture
