The influence that Deane Beman wielded over golf for two decades cannot be overstated, and his legacy as PGA Tour Commissioner rightfully led to his induction into the World Golf Hall of Fame. He launched THE PLAYERS Championship, formed the Senior PGA Tour (now PGA TOUR Champions), developed the TPC network of courses, grew charitable contributions from less than $1 million a year to more than $30 million, and grew the assets of the Tour from $400,000 to $260 million.
