We’re the ones that run right off into the ditch headlong knowing all the while the Holy Spirit’s saying don’t go that way. Don’t do that. Come back here. Friend, we’re the one that always tends to mess it up. But I want to say to you today through the good and the bad all the hard or the easy The same kind in the victory is in the day I have lost. They said no man’s able to pluck you out of it. I’d rather talk about being saved always. I believe eternal salvation. You say, how come? Because the Bible said so. Amen. And what Jesus said was, they shall never perish.”

Listen, God ain’t never had a problem sorting out your messes. Amen. He’s real good at sorting out your messes. You say, well, you ain’t never been in a mess I am. You might be surprised. But I’ll tell you what I do know. I know that there ain’t never been a the one that fails us, friend. You can have confidence. And I do too. I’ve got confidence that what He started in you, He’s going to finish. Say, preacher, I’ve messed up or I’ve done something wrong or I’ve lived wrong or I’ve been out too long. It don’t make any difference what you’re saying. If you’ve been truly born again, He’s going to work that good work in you. He will perform it, friend, until the day of Jesus Christ.”

    • “I’m confident about it. I’m confident about it. Amen, amen. You might have offended him. You might have quenched him a thousand times. But he ain’t never left you. You say, how you know, preacher? Again, because he said so. He said, I’ll never leave you nor forsake you. I’ll go with you even unto the end. He didn’t say if you are always right. Amen. Thank God. And I know, amen, that when it means better for worse, that’s what she did it for. I mean, that’s the same way you say, preacher. Is that because you love? Yeah, it’s because we love one another.”
  • Reiterating confidence in God’s promise to deliver individuals into a place where everything will be alright.
    • “There’s something to deliver you one day into that place, friend, where everything’s going to be all right. He ain’t going to leave you now if that’s what you’re thinking. No, I’m confident of this very thing. That’s what Paul said. He said, I’m confident of this very thing not exhaustive. There ain’t no way you can preach all this. That’s a devil talking, I’ll tell you that. You say, how do you know? Because that’s a lie, see. What the Bible said was, brother, if you’re in Christ, he’s going to finish the good work he started in you.”

  • Highlighting Abraham’s strength in faith, giving glory to God and being fully persuaded that God would perform what He had promised.
    • “Here’s what the Bible says. Romans 4, 20 and 22. He staggered not at the promise of God tonight. You can’t seem to get your head up because your confidence in God has come. Amen. It’s because your faith is weak. It’s because your faith is under attack. You say, please help me with my faith. Well, all I can do, friends, is tell you what the Bible said. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. How long have you been out of the house of God? How long has it been since you opened the Word of God? How many since you called on God? How many times have you appointed the Word of God? Your faith is under attack stagger at the promise of God through unbelief. No. No, the Bible said he believed God, but was strong in the faith, giving glory to God and being fully persuaded that what he had promised, he was able also to perform. Therefore, it was imputed to him for righteousness. Amen.”
  • Emphasizing Abraham’s continued belief in God, even when faced with the command to sacrifice his son Isaac.
    • “The Bible said that Abraham had faith in God and it knew he would perform it. Even when God spoke to him after the birth of Isaac and said take him up on the mountain and offer him up unto me as a sacrifice. Even when he was walking Isaac up that hill. Even when he tied him up and laid him on that altar and drew that knife back. Even when he didn’t know what was going to happen next. The Bible said that he still believed God. He had confidence in God.”
  • Encouraging individuals to wake up with confidence in God and to believe in His promises, rather than relying on themselves.
    • “The confidence wouldn’t hurt us, would it? Wake up in the morning confident in Him. Not in yourself. That’d be a great mistake. Amen. Surely you’ve lived long enough to figure that one out. You’ve got a lot of confidence in yourself. The Bible said pride comes forth all. Amen. Some of you a formula for you. How about believing in God? You just believe in God and wake up confident that what the Bible says is true. Amen. That if you love Him and are called according to His purpose, then all things work together for good. You believe that? I do. I believe that it don’t make any difference. They can call and tell me tomorrow, well this has happened to you. You’ve got two weeks. Let me tell you something. If that’s what happens, I want you to know for sure that he’s doing.”

  • Stating confidence in God and His intention to perform His work in individuals, despite personal challenges.
    • “Confident in God? Yeah. That’s where confidence has to be. But it’s got to come from faith. Right? If you don’t believe in God, you ain’t going to have no confidence in Him. But I’ve got confidence that He’s going to perform in you. That’s one thing to say about me. Because I know my life. I know what I’m up against. I know what I have to deal with. I know what I pray through. But Paul said, I have confidence He’s going to finish what He started in you.”
  • Highlighting the importance of God’s Word as the source of faith and emphasizing its unchanging nature.
    • “But I also got confidence in His Word. You say, where does the faith come from? Well, faith comes by hearing. And hearing by the Word of God. And so I’d like to also say that I have confidence in His Word. What the psalmist said in 1989, what he said was, forever, O Lord, thy Word is settled in heaven. You know God’s Word never changes. Amen. There ain’t no reason to mess with this book. Ain’t nothing wrong with it. Amen. And what we need to do is believe His Word. Quit trying to change it. Quit trying to fix it, brother. Accept it. Know that it’s inerrant. The precious Word of God that is forever settled in heaven. It will stand when the world’s on fire. Amen, amen.”
  • Encouraging belief in the inerrancy, infallibility, and impeccability of God’s Word, and emphasizing its importance for confidence in God and His message.
    • “If you ain’t willing to say, I believe in the Word of God to be inerrant, infallible, impeccable. The very existence of God’s breath abides within the volume of God, you ain’t got no confidence in it. Let me take you out a step farther. If you ain’t got no confidence in the word of God, you ain’t got no confidence in his preacher. If he’s preaching it. Amen. Because the devil comes in there and he says, oh, but you don’t really believe that. You don’t really believe that.”
  • Challenging listeners to believe in the miraculous events described in the Bible and to have confidence that God will finish the good work He started in them.
    • “Some of you people believe that a man gets swallowed by fish and live. up and run into Nineveh and preach to them and that whole city got saved. But you won’t believe that He started a good work in you and finished you. No, you hang your head down. Oh, pitiful me. Yeah. Some of you believe He rose from the grave. Some of you actually believe that a man that was dead got up problem you’ve got. This issue that you have. Hey, I have confidence that the work He started in you, He’s going to perform it until the day that Jesus snatches you out of here. Whether you believe it or not, I believe it. I believe He’s going to do it.”
  • Reiterating that faith comes from hearing the Word of God and emphasizing its role in begetting and keeping believers.
    • “Well, I’ve got confidence in His Word, and His Word is what gives me faith. Right? If I’m telling you right now, it is the key. It is the Word of God, friend, is how you’re begotten. And the Bible said that the Word of God is how you’re kept. And if you don’t believe the Word of God, brother, you’re in a sad state today. Your confidence level in God, brother, is way below where it ought to be. Where you ought to get is to, I believe God. Whether I believe it, whether I do it. But I’ve read them. And you know what? That trumps what you say or what I think. If he said it, I believe it. Amen. And if we have faith in God, let me tell you something. We’re going to have confidence in Him. Confidence in Him. Confidence in His Word.”

  • Expressing confidence in God’s grace, citing 2 Corinthians 12 where God tells Paul that His grace is sufficient.
    • “I’ve got confidence in His grace. 2 Corinthians chapter 12. He said it. He said it to me. Now this was him speaking to the Apostle Paul after Paul had prayed three times that God said to him, he said, my grace is sufficient for thee for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I have the glory in my infirmities, Paul said, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. May I say to you tonight, you may not understand what God’s doing, but I’ll tell you right now, you can trust Him. You can believe Him. He will not fail you. There’s some things in this world that we can’t understand. You can’t explain it.”
  • Sharing personal experiences of finding grace in dark times and affirming its sufficiency.
    • “You can try to wish it away, Some can testify tonight that on the darkest day of their life, they found grace. When all hope was gone, when there was no way out, they found grace to be sufficient. Amen. Amen. Thank God. You say, Richard, you’ve got confidence in God’s grace? I’ve got too. Amen. it’s been good enough. The grace of God has been superior. It has been absolutely wondrous as it has always brought me through.”
  • Highlighting that grace brings salvation and has appeared to all men, citing Titus 2:11.
    • “You got confidence in the grace of God? Well, Titus 2.11 said, The grace of God which brings salvation hath appeared to all men. Amen. Grace is what sought you. Grace is what brought you the Word. Grace is what for you. I’m confident in His grace tonight.”
  • Acknowledging uncertainty about future challenges but expressing trust in grace to sustain through them.
    • “You say, Preacher, if that was to happen to me, I don’t know what I’d do. I can’t answer those questions. Amen. There’s a lot of things that I don’t know what I’d do, but I know what I want to do. I’ll tell you right now, there’s some things that I’ve never faced. Some of you faced them. I’ve never faced them. And so I can only want to say, here’s what I’d do in that circumstance, but here’s what cut off for Jesus. I don’t know if I can do it. I’ll tell you right now. I’m trusting grace.”
  • Emphasizing that grace sustained those who suffered for Jesus and affirming God’s promise that His grace is sufficient.
    • “You say you think grace can help you? What do you think was helping them? All them that lost their heads before you. Everybody in prison before you. Everybody that’s ever suffered for His good name before you. What do you think sustained them? It was grace that was there. is one of His full times. And He’s made us a promise when He told the Apostle Paul, He’s told you and I, My grace, He said, My grace is sufficient. Amen. Amen. I hope I shouldn’t shout in just a second on that. He said, My grace is sufficient. You can count on that.”

Confidence in God’s Faithfulness

  • Expressing confidence in God’s faithfulness as an inherent attribute, inseparable from His nature.
    • “Well, I’ve got confidence in His grace. I’ve also got confidence. He’s saying I’m confident he’ll do that for you. Confident in his faithfulness. Is God faithful? Amen. It’s an attribute of God. You can’t no more separate faithfulness from God than you can love. And we know that he’s love. I’m confident in him, Pat. You say, Preacher, how do you really know? question. Always faithful. Always faithful.”
  • Citing 1 Corinthians 10:13 to emphasize that temptations are common and that God is faithful in providing a way out.
    • “The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 10 and 13, I love this one. The Apostle Paul said, there hath no temptation taken you, but such is common to man. Listen to what he said. God is faithful. Some of you say, I’m having a hard time. I’m having a hard go of it. Yeah. I want you to listen to this. There hath no temptation taken you, but such is common. Amen. If we’ll believe His Word and believe Him and believe His grace, brother I’m going to tell you something. He is faithful today. Somebody tell me one time He’s failed you. Never. Never. Are we confident that God’s going to be faithful? We’re a little wishy-washy sometimes about that. Amen. When them clouds are dark and them winds are blowing confidence that His grace is sufficient for you. That His word will deliver to you. That He will continue to perform the good work He started in you. And brother, that God will be faithful through your worst day. But God is faithful, He said. Listen to what He said. Who will not suffer you to be tempted To bear it. Now it ain’t every time I’m smart enough to take the scape around. But I believe God made one every time. There’s some things I probably suffered longer than I had to if I just saw the grace of God at work and remembered that He’s always faithful even in the hard stuff. Even in the days when I don’t know what to do. Even when the temptation seems like it’s more than I can bear. Here’s what you can know. You better hold on to God because the devil ain’t merciful.”
  • Explaining that God only allows things for one’s good and that temptation to do evil does not come from Him.
    • “You say, how in the world do I know the difference between God allowing something in my life and it being the devil? Well, the only thing God allows will be for your good. Amen, amen. You’ll never find in the Word of God where He tempted somebody to do evil. No, you can be certain if you’re tempted to do evil, that ain’t God.”

Commended being a simple word meaning proved it. any man to lay down his life for a friend.”
  • Highlighting that God proved His love by laying down His life and encouraging listeners to remember this on their hardest days.
    • “You say, Preacher, how can you be so confident that God loves you? Well, first off, because I’m confident in the Word and it says He does. Jesus loves me. This I know. For the Bible tells me so. On your hardest day, just sing that one to yourself. And have confidence that He gives love. No, the Greek word was agape. That’s a different love. That is an unconditional love. That is a love that loves you, Paul, in spite of Paul. He just loves you. You say, are you confident in that? Well, let me just be as clear as I can. I’ve tried to give you the Scripture, but let me just lay it out for you. That cross means nothing if He did not love you. Amen. If the devil’s telling you that God don’t love you, amen, that ought to be the easiest one to resolve. Just get the calvary and stare at it a moment. It’ll come to you. That God displayed His love for the whole world. So loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. Oh how He loves you You confident in that? Yep I’m confident in that for you You might be in that dark moment right now That you just don’t know what to think And you’re just holding on by a thread And at any moment you feel like you could just break And you’re gone I’m confident for you I’m going to tell you right now I’m believing whether you don’t believe God loves you He loves you He loves you”

    • “and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. You say, Preacher, that don’t always work out for me. The problem is not with the Word. It’s probably with the other part of that sentence, and that’s you. But the Bible says that if we confess our sin, any time we come with a broken heart and a contrite spirit, He said He didn’t know why. Cast aside. No. From all unrighteousness. Anybody know what it feels like to be clean? I love that. Don’t you? By the way, here’s a news flash. You’ll need that feeling every day. And when you skip a day, boy, you’re going to be extra dirty the next one. Just warning. But I’m confident for you. I’m absolutely confident for you. You may not be praying today. You will.”
  • Warning against a path of bitterness and self-hatred, and affirming that God will fix what’s wrong when one humbles themselves and asks for forgiveness.

You’ll get to the place where you can’t sleep at night and conviction eats you like cancer. You’ll get to the place where you wish you could die and you can’t die. I’m confident in forgiveness. I’m confident that the very moment you meet the conditions of the holy righteous God, that He’ll Because I experience it every day. You say, Preacher, you have to get forgiveness every day, every hour. But I’m confident. For you, I’m confident. That all it’s going to take is for you to bow your knee to God and say, I’m sorry. And He’s going to fix what’s wrong. He’s going to help you. I’m confident in that. Say, Preacher, I ain’t doing it tonight. For after all these things do the Gentiles seek. He said, For your heavenly Father knoweth that you have need of all these that negatively. Hey, brother, we need rain. You ain’t got no rain, you’re in a drought. That’s a bad thing. And I like it when it rains. It does a whole lot of stuff when it rains. Without rain, amen, go look in one of them third world countries, there ain’t nothing but sand. I like it when it rains. But He said it rains on the just and the unjust. There’s another picture of His love. I’ll tell you right now, God’s good to us. give me any excuse to worry about it. Oh, because what He said was, don’t you know that your Heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things? Don’t you know that He loves you more than the little bird who doesn’t sow or spin or put up in their barns and yet every day they eat? Don’t you know that you’re loved more than the bird? You may not know it right now, but I’m knowing it for you, right? that very next verse, he said, but seek ye first the kingdom of God and all his righteousness. Ain’t nobody can get to me unless He let them in. And if He let them in, He did it for my good. So I might as well get ready. Sometimes He expects you to put up a little effort. He’s trying to grow your faith. He’s trying to stretch your muscles, make them better spiritually. He’s my protector. I’ll be the first one to tell you I’m confident in that for you. That’s what Paul said. He said, I’m confident in this very thing. That that good work that He’s begun in you, that He will perform it to the day of Jesus Christ. Paul said, I’m confident for you. I’m confident that He’s going to protect you.”

You know what that means really? It means He’s waiting. He’s long-suffering to us. Come and get a song for you. He’s long-suffering to us. That’s the word. As the Lord said, Not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. true. You know good and well that when you go out them doors you didn’t leave God. He’s still there. And God is long suffering. Some of you probably said to yourself before He’s probably give up on me. I should have went a year ago. Should have bowed my knee a month ago. Some of you look in the friend, all you need, just hang on. You might be afraid. You might run around a little bit. But let me remind you, you’re running around in a big old hand. Amen. They said no man’s able to pluck you out of it. I’d rather talk about being saved always. I believe eternal salvation. You say, how come? Because the Bible said so. Amen. And what Jesus said was, they shall never perish.”
  • Reassuring that God is capable of sorting out messes and affirming that He will continue to work in those who are truly born again until the day of Jesus Christ.

  • Emphasizing that God never leaves or forsakes His followers, even when they offend or disappoint Him.
Amen. Thank God. I’m confident today that what he started in you, he’s able to keep it. He’s able to perform it.”

She might not always like being with me, but she’s going to stick with me. You say, how do you know that? Because we’ve been through a lot. Amen. We’ve been through many of them.
There’s a lot of things that we can be confident in as it pertains to the Lord. Amen.”
  • Expressing sorrow for those who lack faith in God and emphasizing the misery of relying solely on the world.
    • “If you ain’t got the Lord, I’m so sorry. Amen. I just feel so bad for you tonight. Amen. Because if all you’ve got’s this world, you’re of all men most miserable. I’m sorry for you. Amen. I hate it for you. Amen.”

    • “If you’re here lost and you’ve got him on your side, amen, if God be for us, he said, who couldn’t be against us. You say, preacher, I don’t know if I’m going to make it. That’s a devil talking, I’ll tell you that. You say, how do you know? Because that’s a lie, see. What the Bible said was, brother, if you’re in Christ, he’s going to finish the good work he started in you.”

The Example of Abraham’s Faith

  • Describing Abraham’s unwavering faith in God’s promise, even in seemingly impossible circumstances.
    • “Well, I’m confident. a description of Abraham’s faith. Abraham, being a man that was 100 years old or so, and Sarah 90, and God comes to him and says, you’re going to have a son. Amen. Now they could have chose what everybody else would normally choose and that was to not believe God. But the Bible said Abraham believed God.”

Confidence in God’s Word

Confidence in God’s Grace
