A Sligo Leitrim Deputy says casting doubt over the future of major infrastructure projects in the North West is nothing more than scaremongering by opposition politicians.
It was confirmed this week that projects such as the N17 from Knock to Collooney, the Eastern Garavogue Bridge and the Carrick on Shannon by-pass will reaching construction by 2030.
The N15 from Sligo to the county boundary is also being advanced.
Concern has been raised in some circles that a change of government could lead to the plans being altered.
Responding to such claims Sligo Fianna Fail TD Eamon Scanlon says the procurement stage for these projects are scheduled to take place in 2029 and that the current government will still be in power
