Indie retro publisher Mega Cat Studios and Clever Cat Games are thrilled to announce that the Kickstarter campaign for Echoes of the Unread—a brand-new adventure for the original NES—will launch on May 19, 2025.

Echoes of the Unread is an adventure of song, imagination, and friendship that places players in the role of Rhapsody, a young girl swept into a surreal storybook realm by Odele, a bitter magician determined to rewrite her own fate using a mythical quill. But the price of Odele’s freedom could be Rhapsody’s eternal imprisonment within the pages of the Unread Book.

To celebrate the campaign’s upcoming debut, the NES faithful can now watch the Kickstarter Announcement Trailer, which offers an enchanting first look at the game’s varied, literary-inspired worlds you’ll explore on this imaginative journey into a living library ruled by a spiteful magician.
