Dan Holiday is called to 733 Windship Avenue to talk to Mrs. Catherine Dailey about the death of her son, Arthur Dailey. She was told that he died in a drunken brawl outside of a seedy bar, but does not believe it. She thinks he was murdered. Mrs. Daily said that Arthur was a newspaper reporter for the Evening Record, and he told her that he was working on a very big story, one that would really help his career. The night that he was killed, he received a phone call and hurried out. The next time I saw him was for the identification of his body. The police told me that he was drunk and killed in a bar fight, but I know he was not a drinker.
