With changes coming into place from 2021 in the way solicitors qualify. Information on applying for Training Contract's (TC's) is still relevant despite the introduction of the Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE). Many firms will still want their trainees to complete a significant period of work experience. Initially both the new and current system will run alongside each other for a number of years and the traditional TC is probably staying around longer in larger firms.

Applying for the TC is the stage we are focusing on here.

Your application should be made following a firms correct trainee recruitment process. Remember competition is fierce, many firms receive hundreds if not thousands of applications for a single vacancy.

The structure of your time spent completing a training contract application is 90% on the open text questions and 10% on the other sections. Never neglect the other sections of the form.
