Can understanding trauma transform the way we address homelessness? Join us in this deeply impactful episode as we visit with Kourtney Barr, Deputy Director of Transformational Services, and Kodee Bloom, Director of Trauma Education & Development. We dive into trauma-informed care, how we implement Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) techniques in our daily work, and how we create a safe and empowering space for personal transformation. Through real-life stories and a deeper understanding of trauma, we emphasize the critical role of empathy and individualized support in fostering lasting change.

In this episode, we also discuss the development of the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Test and how our team has conducted research with it to better understand those we serve. Through this research, in partnership with the Psychology Department from Washburn University, we have the incredible opportunity to share our findings at the upcoming American Psychological Association's national conference. We celebrate this milestone and the dedication of our team members who tirelessly work to spread hope and healing. From the origins of our internal studies to the broader implications for policies and laws related to homelessness, this episode underscores the importance of addressing the root causes of trauma. Join us on this journey of compassion, knowledge, and unwavering belief in the potential for positive change within our community.
