While I’m happy to co-host a weekly podcast, I do listen to several others. One of the finest examples is Filmspotting, a movie-themed podcast that celebrates film via weekly in-depth reviews, interviews, “Sacred Cow” reviews of classic movies, and “Top 5” segments. The show is hosted by Adam Kempenaar and Josh Larsen, but it has been running since March 2005 (with Adam’s former co-host/current producer Sam Van Hallgren). It’s the one podcast I knowingly listen to the day it arrives in my feed. Given its popularity, I know I’m not alone. In honor of the podcast’s 20th anniversary, the Filmspotting team has put together Filmspotting Fest, an upcoming Chicago-based film festival from February 28 to March 2. Tickets are on sale, and more information can be found at www.filmspotting.net. All that said, I had the pleasure of speaking with Adam and Josh about the upcoming fest, the podcast, and how they’ve kept it going all this time. Enjoy!
