The court found that controversial Muslim cleric Wissam Haddad violated the Act, ruling his online speeches were "fundamentally racist and antisemitic" and deeply offensive to Jewish Australians. Importantly, the court also clarified that criticism of Israel, Zionism, or the Israel Defense Forces does not constitute antisemitism and thus doesn't breach the law.

This finding offers significant guidance for the ongoing discussion about how to define antisemitism in Australia.
