Have you ever felt completely drained—like you’ve poured out every ounce of your energy and there’s just nothing left? If you’re nodding, Sis, you might be experiencing compassion fatigue. It’s a term often linked with therapists, first responders, or medical professionals, but it can affect anyone who invests deeply in others without replenishing their own well-being.

Life pulls us in a million directions—family responsibilities, careers, marriage, bills, and the inevitable highs and lows that come with it all. When you’re a giver, it’s easy to forget that you can’t pour from an empty cup. Without pausing to reflect on how you’re expending your energy, you risk becoming depleted, running on edge, and losing the joy that makes life meaningful.

Here’s the truth: You’re only called to carry the load that God has asked you to carry. Not more. Not less. So, what can you do?

Take ten minutes today to pause. Put the phone down, stop scrolling, and just breathe. Release the guilt and self-criticism. You’re human, and it’s okay to rest.

Reset your priorities. Pour into yourself. It’s not selfish—it’s essential. When you make space to nurture your own well-being, you’ll find that joy isn’t fleeting. It’s sustainable.

Remember, Sis, it’s never too late to step off the treadmill, reassess, and find balance. Joy is waiting—you just have to make room for it.

Quotes from Today’s Episode:

“You have to give yourself permission and perspective. Often the reason we're running, running, running is because of these narratives we have about how we're supposed to navigate life, how we're supposed to show up in life as resilient women."

"If you are not careful and you're not looking at ways to replenish your stores, your reserves, you will have so much energy going out that you become depleted to the point that you are continually on edge."
