In this lesson of Surah Al-Anfāl, verses 17-25, Shaykh Dr. Aḥsan Ḥanīf highlights the intervention of Allāh عَزَّوَجَلَّ in the victory at Badr, reminding believers that success is granted by His will, not their efforts. The Prophet’s ﷺ actions, like throwing sand, were made effective by Allāh’s power, serving as a test of gratitude and reliance on Him. Disbelievers are warned that their defeat was a fulfilment of their own challenge, and future disbelief will lead to similar outcomes.

The verses emphasise obedience to Allāh عَزَّوَجَلَّ and His Messenger ﷺ, contrasting believers with heedless disbelievers, who are likened to animals in their ignorance. Allāh عَزَّوَجَلَّ guides hearts, and believers are urged to rely on Him. They are also reminded of the collective duty to uphold righteousness, prevent corruption, and prioritise faith over worldly matters like wealth and children, ensuring success in this life and the Hereafter.
