In this lesson on Sūrah Hūd (verses 50–60), Shaykh Dr Aḥsan Ḥanīf explores the story of Prophet Hūd (ʿalayhis-salām) and his mission to the people of ʿĀd. Despite Hūd’s clear call to worship Allāh alone and his sincere warnings, the people arrogantly rejected his message, accusing him of madness and clinging to their false gods. Hūd firmly declared his reliance on Allāh and absolved himself from their shirk. The lecture highlights how ʿĀd’s persistent disobedience led to their destruction, while Hūd and the believers were saved by Allāh’s mercy - a powerful reminder of the consequences of arrogance and the importance of submitting to divine truth.
