In this lesson on Sūrah Hūd (verses 84–87), Shaykh Dr. Aḥsan Ḥanīf explores the message of Prophet Shuʿayb (ʿalayhi as-salām) to the people of Madyan. He called them to the worship of Allāh alone and condemned their corruption, particularly their dishonesty in business dealings and economic injustice. Despite their material prosperity, they were warned of a punishment if they continued spreading corruption and denying divine guidance. The people mockingly questioned how his prayer could dictate their trade or traditions, highlighting their resistance to moral accountability. This lesson sheds light on the relationship between faith, ethical conduct, and societal justice.
