In this week’s epysode of The Vinyl Relics Podcast, we turn the spotlight on one of the most tragically overlooked albums of the psychedelic era... "Before the Dream Faded" by The Misunderstood.

Formed in Riverside, California and exiled to London in the mid-'60s, The Misunderstood fused American garage rock with British psychedelia, creating a sound that was years ahead of its time. With searing slide guitar, political lyrics, and sonic ambition to spare, their music foreshadowed both heavy rock and acid experimentation and yet, they faded before they could truly rise.

We’re joined by guest Rick Brown, the band’s original lead singer, who shares powerful firsthand stories about the band's creative vision, their turbulent rise, and the mysterious circumstances that tore them apart just as they were poised for greatness.

It's one of the most fascinating “what coulda been” stories in rock history. I hope you dig "Before The Dream Faded" as much as I do.
