The 2014 documentary Killer Legends explores the real murders and crimes behind famous urban legends like the Hook Man, poisoned Halloween candy, the babysitter and the man upstairs, and killer clowns. The film traces each legend back to actual events, including the 1946 Moonlight Murders in Texarkana that inspired the Hook Man story and eventually led to the creation of the Halloween franchise, and Ronald O'Bryan who poisoned his own son with cyanide-laced candy to collect insurance money.
