In this class we discuss Judah's proposal to his brothers to sell Joseph rather than kill him. Our discussion involves two of our favorite themes: the question of the legitimacy of moral compromise when moral absolutism seems infeasible, and the moral ambiguity frequently present in Biblical narrative.
