On this episode of the Peristyle Podcasts hosts Ryan Abraham and Coach Harvey Hyde are back together talking about the Trojans taking down the crosstown rival Bruins 29-10 Saturday evening in the Coliseum. Coach gives his thoughts on how USC played in that game and why he thought the suspensions of Makai Lemon and Ja'Kobi Lane for the first quarter were not a big deal.
With the regular season over and the Trojans sitting at 9-3, Coach Hyde talks about that being acceptable for now, but he wants to see this team get better to compete with the upper echelon programs in college football. He feels Lincoln Riley has improved as a head coach and he likes that USC is running the ball more now. He wants to see the defense improved, especially the linebackers who need to bring more intensity and physicality to the game.
The guys also discuss the crazy coaching carousel including former USC head coach Lane Kiffin making a ton of headlines with his move from Ole Miss to LSU.
Coach Harvey Hyde has been part of the Peristyle Podcast since 2008 and in the USC football world he is an expert on X's and O's, personnel, coaching philosophies and recruiting.
