This episode is about the relationship of judgment to that of love and acceptance. The Gentiles in Rome thought the judgment of God was a process of separating human beings. Paul goes to great lengths to show judgment as that which reveals the basis upon which all are regenerated. The separation of self as source from Spirit as source was the necessary prelude to the acceptance of all. Paul’s teaching that all Israel will be saved has stood in contradiction to the Christian religion’s teaching of condemnation, wrath and casting away for the purpose of tormenting most of the world for eternity. The Gentiles in Rome institutionalized Jesus, made him the founder of a new religion and passed down this judgment message through history. Paul deconstructs this divisive message and clarifies the nature of God’s love and acceptance.
