Rome Resources Plc (AIM:RMR) CEO Paul Barrett talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the company’s pivotal year in 2024 marked by the reverse takeover of Pathfinder Minerals, successful capital raises, and extensive drilling across its DRC assets. Barrett said, “It’s a very large mineralisation zone across the whole of that crestal area of Mont Agoma,” noting that recent drilling has extended known mineralisation down the hill’s flank. The 2024 drilling campaign focused on Kalayi and Bisie North, revealing consistent intersections of copper, zinc, and tin. Barrett explained that resource estimation has been temporarily paused to incorporate promising assays expected in the coming weeks. He also confirmed that Rome Resources remains fully funded into the second half of 2025, enabling flexibility to resume drilling as early as September. Barrett highlighted positive regional developments, including a peace deal between the DRC and Rwanda, which he said could improve confidence in the commercial environment. Proximity to Alphamin’s producing mine continues to support Rome Resources’ operational outlook. Looking ahead, the company plans to finalise assays, complete metallurgical studies, and assess potential for deeper drilling and further step-outs at Mont Agoma.
