Samantha Fiore of the PATHe team is stepping into a new role as Assistant Director of St. Petersburg Alumni Engagement with the USF Alumni Association. She’ll lead Bulls and Brews, support the USF Pinellas Alumni Chapter, and help connect alumni to our growing campus community.

New research from USF’s College of Marine Science reveals that freshwater from rivers played a key role in Hurricane Idalia’s rapid intensification. The study highlights how river plumes impact ocean mixing—and why they may be crucial for improving hurricane forecasts.

In collaboration with the Foundation for a Healthy St. Petersburg and the St. Petersburg Library System, USF Libraries launched two free online courses:
  • Data is for Everyone
  • Finding Reliable Data

These one-hour courses are part of the Data Literacy for Community Action (DLCA) project, helping community leaders use data to support local change.
