Lunchtime Conversation host Nanette Wiser and photojournalist Dave Decker talked capturing the decisive moment in images, telling a story with photos and the craft and inspiration for Dave Decker's unfiltered photography. His "Silent Conversations in the Street: New Photography Exhibit by Dave Decker Opens at WADA" opens July 12 6-10 pm at the Warehouse Arts District Tully-Levine Gallery and runs through the end of July. 515 22nd Street South. The show will run through July 31 and is free and open to the public during gallery hours.
ABOUT DECKER You've seen his photographs in Creative Loafing and news services, stunning images of musicians at play or unfiltered photos of people or protests, from here to Alligator Alley. Decker, a prominent voice in the region’s photography scene, has gained recognition over the past two years for his evocative street photography and documentary work. A frequent contributor to Creative Loafing, he has immersed readers in the unfiltered moments of Tampa Bay life—from street protests and public gatherings to intimate, everyday vignettes that often go unseen. In Silent Conversations in the Street, Decker turns his lens on those quiet, fleeting encounters that speak volumes—snapshots of stillness amid chaos, glances exchanged, truths revealed without words. The exhibit invites viewers to pause and consider the emotional and social undercurrents of our urban landscape.
CONTACT Decker has a studio in YBOR CITY and they host a 3rd Thursday meet up. Learn more here about the photographer, musician and artist. [email protected] 813-203-8445
“Dave has an uncanny ability to see what others pass by,” said Markus Gottschlich, Executive Director of WADA. “He doesn’t just document a scene—he reveals it. This new exhibit reflects his ongoing mission to find truth in the overlooked and beauty in the raw.”
