From September through October, a quiet suburban home becomes the stage for a recurring haunting. Every year, the family’s resident spirit, Rose, makes her presence known. It began subtly—a black, hunched figure walking past the kitchen window, footsteps on the porch, a shadow that vanished when the door was opened. At first, they thought it was a trick of the light, until guests began to see her too.
As years passed, Rose became part of their lives—a ghostly tradition that arrived with the turning leaves. But after the homeowner’s wife left, Rose’s presence grew louder. One night, after an argument with his new love, the kitchen erupted—utensils rattled, cabinet doors flew open, and drawers slammed shut. When he stepped into the room, everything went silent.
He believes Rose was sending a message—not of malice, but of conscience. Every autumn since, she returns with her soft reminders: a whisper through the window, a shadow in the kitchen, a gentle chaos that says, “I’m still here.”
