There is likely no better man to talk to about where market research is heading and where it has been than Nottingham UK based globally trotting Ray Poynter. Starting out 40 years ago as a programmer on innovative market research tools, he has since had many pivots in the sector and is author of multiple market research publications, from mobile market research, to online and social media and semiotics. In 1999 Ray Founded the Future Place, a provider of market research training and consulting. He is also the man behind NewMR.org, an initiative offering regular online events with leading researchers, thinkers and doers from across the world. Topics explored include artificial intelligence and visual storytelling, video analysis, semiotics, automation and more. Ray travels the world as a keynote conference speaker, and sits on the editorial board of the GreenBook Research Industry Trends (GRIT) Report and is an advisor to universities and research agencies on key trends. We discuss changes as data has become bigger and bigger and finding true strategic insight more and more important amongst the clutter and complication. An interesting discussion for researchers and those interested in better understanding people, now and into the future. Real People is a podcast hosted by Jason Dunstone, the founder and managing director of Square Holes. Subscribe to Real People on your favourite podcast player.
