Construction, repair, danger ahead, closures, etc. Everywhere we look, we see safety barricades, safety signs, safety vests, and SAFETY CONES. Most of the time, these "Safety" devices will be orange. Yes, there are other colors, but it seems like everywhere I drive in Central Florida, there are orange safety barrels, barricades, flags, signs, and cones — miles and miles of cones. They do cause us to spend more time getting from Point A to Point B, but they are there for that very reason: safety. Here's my question for today. Are we putting up safety cones (figuratively) in our lives to protect us from being approached by people and opportunities? Being afraid is not a bad thing, but being fearful of taking the chance to LIVE FORWARD is a bad thing. If you are throwing up barricades around your life and keeping people, opportunity, and growth from coming into your life, then maybe we need a discussion about the difference between being responsible and being a coward.
