Welcome to another episode of Retrotopia: Another Video Game Podcast. This is a show where we, Alan, Brian, and Sam, get together to discuss video games from years gone by. We like to look at video games from the perspective of lifelong gamers and how they hold up in the retro sphere.

This week we are discussing Dragon Ball Z: Budokai, a PlayStation 2 and GameCube game that brought the high-energy battles of the Dragon Ball Z anime to life in full 3D. Players could relive iconic moments from the series, from the Saiyan Saga to the Cell Games, using a deep fighting system that blended accessible combos with flashy energy attacks. With cinematic story cutscenes, character customization, and voice acting straight from the show, Budokai set the stage for future DBZ fighters and became a fan favourite for capturing the spirit of the series.
