This episode will dive into punnett squares.

Punnett squares are visual tools used to predict the possible genotypes and phenotypes of offspring from a monohybrid cross. These diagrams use letters to represent alleles, with capital letters denoting dominant alleles and lowercase letters representing recessive alleles.

Using the example of pea plant colour, the episode illustrates how to determine the probability of offspring inheriting specific traits, such as a 50% chance of being yellow when one parent is homozygous recessive and the other is heterozygous.

This approach provides a ratio of potential outcomes, such as a 1:1 green-to-yellow offspring ratio as an example.
