Manage episode 482324388 series 3139602
In this episode, we talk about measuring pH.
Determining the acidity or alkalinity of a substance, known as measuring pH, can be achieved through different methods.
One approach involves using a universal indicator, which displays a spectrum of colours that correlate to specific pH values. Alternatively, a pH probe provides a direct numerical reading of the pH level.
Furthermore, natural substances like red cabbage contain compounds such as anthocyanin that behave similarly to litmus paper, changing colour in response to acidic or alkaline environments, thus offering another means of pH indication.
