Glacial Landscapes in the UK: Landforms Caused by Erosion 🏔️ GCSE Geography Learning & Revision
Manage episode 481307254 series 3139505
In this episode, we take a look at glacial erosion landforms.
Glacial erosion carves distinctive landforms. Arêtes are sharp ridges sculpted by adjacent glaciers, while pyramidal peaks result from erosion by three or more glaciers.
Hanging valleys, formed by less powerful tributary glaciers, often sit high above the main glacial trough.
Upon glacial retreat, ribbon lakes, long and thin, can occupy depressions within these troughs.
