Victoria has moved to act quickly in the wake of horrific child sexual abuse charges levelled at a childcare worker in Melbourne.

Premier Jacinta Allan has announced a snap review into safety in the childcare sector, as well as plans for a state-run staff register, new fines and potentially installing CCTV in all centres. The Victorian Government also labelled the pace of federal reform as "frustratingly slow".
