Nina was subject to violence by her family and also marital relationship. She now coaches elite professionals and individuals, while also standing to end honour killings around the globe. In this episode, she shares her story.

Warning: this episode contains some very graphic and upsetting talking points.

Nina, who was almost the victim of an honour killing, was subject to violence by her family and in her marriage, on more than a few occasions. Having defied all odds by surviving, she now coaches high-performing and high-achieving men and women to maximise their potential, while also raising awareness to end honour killings across the globe.

We discuss:

Why cultural restrictions and religious violence occurs

The toxic side of cultures that value the 'collective' above the value of an individual

Living under modern day slavery and domestic violence

School as a place of solace and escape

How to eliminate mental and physical abuse of children in their own household

Being forced to marry at the age of 15 against her will

Being attacked by her own family as part of an attempted 'honour killing' [40mins]

Why Honour Killings are seen more in certain societies and cultures
